Toronto Beaches Residence

The Toronto Beaches Project involved the thoughtful redevelopment of a 1920s-era home that had undergone a dated 1990s renovation, with the goal of designing a third-floor addition that would enhance both functionality and street presence. Located in Toronto’s Beaches neighborhood—a district celebrated for its eclectic mix of historic homes and narrow lots. The project required a sensitive approach balancing modern livability, and contextual harmony. The client requested three distinct modern design options, each exploring different ways to integrate the third-floor addition and redefine the home’s character while respecting neighborhood scale and sightlines.
