Prudhomme's Landing Masterplan

The vision for Prudhommes Landing is to evolve the community into a diverse, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use and high density transit- oriented community while taking advantage of the site’s waterfront and other magnificent natural features and heritage. Different neighbourhood quarters in Prudhommes Landing will be designed to provide for easy access into public spaces, shops, and services. Prudhomme’s Landing will implement a wide range of housing types within the community, including single detached homes, townhouses, and mid and high-rise residential and mixed-use towers, and recognize historical features through public arts programming, installations, and commemorations. Prudhomme’s Landing will ensure that the community will preserve and enhance the natural environment. Furthermore, both future Prudhommes Landing and Region of Niagara residents will have an increased quality of life through the design and construction of such a high-quality architecture and urban design, walkability and destination-type development. These objectives are further met by using improved and integrated facilities and urban design to improve water and air quality within the community. Efficient use of land will allow for proximity between points of interest and reduce the distance in commuting to improve air quality further. The proposal is an example of high-quality urban design and seeks to design an improved site, high-quality built environment for current and future residents, and will be looked at as an exemplar project and destination area in the Region of Niagara.
