As DEEP+, we take a hands-on approach to planning and urban design, working to put various official and non-statutory policies, spatial planning visions, and urban design objectives into practice.
Specifically, studio DEEP’s Planning and Urban Design meticulously focuses on the intricate relationship between a building, its immediate environment, and the relevant policy framework. This approach goes beyond mere architectural aesthetics, delving into the nuanced interplay of the built form, open spaces, pedestrian experiences, and the neighbourhood’s local character.
We believe that a well-designed building extends its influence beyond its footprint, shaping the experiences of those who interact with it and its surroundings.
We achieve this by:
Our aim to ensure every building contributes positively to its context and the broader urban environment is translated into the following services:
As an innovative design and planning firm, Studio DEEP is devoted to the creation of spaces and places that enrich lives and promote a regenerative built environment.
To this end, we employ spatial planning as both a methodology and a practice. Spatial planning, as we define and apply it, is a non-statutory, integrated approach to urban development. It creates a shared spatial development vision that bridges the gap between policy, physical form, and implementation strategy — and aligns key stakeholders around an actionable framework.
Integrative in nature, our spatial planning methodology considers how a built form contributes to the streetscape, public realm, and overall urban fabric, ensuring a harmonious integration with the policy framework’s objectives that enhances liveability, accessibility, and the sense of place within a community.
As part of studioDEEP, the Spatial Planning Department bridges the gap between architecture and planning. As an innovative practice, it empowers municipalities and developers in moving beyond reactive and procedural decision-making through creating context-sensitive, forward-looking, and implementable spatial concepts.
Furthermore, it brings together diverse voices and sectors early in the urban development process, enabling more adaptive, resilient, and liveable communities and places.
DEEP+ implements the spatial planning approach, delivering these key services:
